More fresh January powder. New snow here is as of Saturday morning. And another couple of storms are on the way the next few days!

Here are some highlights for this weekend: Sandia Peak open Friday through Sunday... Santa Fe has everything but two runs and some rails open in the terrain park... Taos has opened the Kachina Peak Lift for the first time this season... Pajarito has opened the Townsite Lift and terrain for the first time this season... Angel Fire has great ticket deals for 50th anniversary... Sipapu has weekday ticket deals... Red River has January Bargain Days and the USSC Ski and Board Challenge this Saturday... In all, 97% of the total mountain is open now. A few rails are open in the terrain park are open.
Deals: There are two ways to save money on you lift tickets. Get the Peak Plus Card. It's $75 and you save $25 off your daily ticket at Sandia Peak or Santa Fe. (Peak Plus Card does not apply to beginner lift only tickets). You can also buy the Six Pack of Fun for $389, which is 6 fully transferable adult tickets. This pack saves you $11 on each of the 6 adult tickets used.

Now open Wednesday through Sunday. The Townsite Lift and the terrain under it is now open for the first time this season! But, the Mother Lift (Chair 2) is closed until further notice. And save money on weekdays... Car Load Wednesdays (where up to five guests in one car ski for just $99 total!) and Local Appreciation Thursdays when lift tickets are $39 for adults and teens.

Two terrain parks are open now with a total of 16 features. This Week is Kids Ski Free Week now through Friday. For each adult full-day, full-price lift ticket purchase, one teen or child gets a FREE lift ticket. Save money with mid week specials too... there is Two For One Tuesday, Carload Wednesday (where up to 5 in one car ski/ride for $50 total) and Local Appreciation Thursday (where adult and teen tickets are $25, kids tickets are $15) .
Deals: There are several ways to save money. There are two for one Tuesdays, Carload Wednesdays (where up to 5 ski or ride for $50 total) and Local Appreciation Thursdays (where adult and teen tickets are $25, kids tickets are $15) nearly every week through early March. Also, kids 6 and younger, 4th graders, 5th graders (report card required) and guests ages 40, 60 or 70 years and better ski FREE everyday. In addition, active military members ski FREE, just bring your active military I.D. to the ticket window and receive a FREE lift ticket.

100% of the mountain is open. The Pot O Gold terrain park is open with 5 jumps and 9 features. USSC Ultimate Ski & Snowboard Challenge is coming up this Saturday. This series supports the University of New Mexico Lobo Ski Team.  Racers can enter with a fee and race in one of the morning competitive divisions or one of the afternoon recreational divisions. Red River Ski & Summer Area hosts the first race of the season and there will be three additional races throughout New Mexico. What's New: The Emerald Quad Chairlift has replaced the Green Chairlift at Summit Camp. The Emerald Quad provides better access to the gentle slopes of Summit Camp and acts as a portal to terrain served by the Silver Chairlift. The Emerald Quad will load on Green Acres and rise above that to the west with views of trails wandering among the aspens. The realignment along with the Emerald Quad Chairlift will carry skiers and riders to the ridge and access The West Bowl and the Silver Chairlift. This new chair has double the capacity of the old Green Chair.
