Mom Watches Live Stream & Calls 911 When She Realizes It's Her Daughter

The story you’re about to read and the video you’re about to watch highlight a shocking case of miscommunication. The situation involved an hours-long search by police for a toddler’s mom, all caused by people not communicating clearly.

Residents of a neighborhood in Hartford, Connecticut, were intrigued when they saw a toddler wandering the streets.

The 2-year-old girl seemed to be playing on her own. However, the neighbors realized something was wrong.

“The neighbors, thank God, saw her out here just kind of having fun but by herself, and they watched her for a few minutes and realized wait, this child’s alone,” said Police Department Chief Brian Foley.

One of the neighbors picked her up and called the police. This prompted officers to swarm the area and search for the toddler’s parents.

Before they did, though, one of the neighbors recorded a Facebook Live video of the toddler wandering the streets in the hopes that it might help her be identified.

Unbeknownst to him, the little girl’s mom had seen the video while working in a nearby hospital.

At first, she didn’t realize who the toddler was. But once she did, she frantically called the police.

Ultimately, the little girl was found safe, healthy, and in happy spirits. She was then quickly reunited with her mom. Police determined the incident was not a criminal one, but a matter of miscommunication.
