It only took 40 years, but KISS finally made the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, and not today's line-up, but the original foursome of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss in a photo from 1975.

The occasion is the band's 40th anniversary and their induction next month into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Jann Wenner, Rolling Stone's co-founder and publisher is also the co-founder of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
