White Sox Pitcher Tosses No-Hitter

Chicago White Sox pitcher Lucas Giolito made history last night by tossing the first no-hitter of the abbreviated season.

The 26-year-old struck out 13 batters and walked only one in the 4-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates in front of an empty Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago. After the game he said, "2020 has been a very strange year. Obviously, a lot of weird stuff going on. COVID. The state of the world. Might as well just throw this in the mix too.’’ Two years ago, Giolito had the worst earned run average among starting pitchers in Major League Baseball. (ESPN)
