Researchers Find Death Defying Jellyfish

Scientists are investigating a species of jellyfish that can defy death and reverse aging.

Researchers at Texas A&M University at Galveston are studying the creature often called the "immortal jellyfish." The jellyfish's cells undergo a process that allows the animal to revert to a younger life cycle.

It can also avoid dying by forming a cyst-like ball and settling on the bottom. It then turns into a polyp before creating a new jellyfish. Researchers are studying this process for possible treatments in muscular diseases, memory aids, and genetic disorders.
