Danny Trejo once had a strange encounter with Charles Manson in prison.
In his new memoir Trejo, the actor writes about being hypnotized by Manson in 1961 while they were both in the Los Angeles County Jail.
The Machete star says a couple of days after they met the future cult leader told Trejo and his friends that he had hypnotic powers and could get them high. Trejo writes that "it was like a guided meditation," and that Manson convinced the group they were smoking weed and then heroin. “By the time he described it hitting my bloodstream, I felt the warmth flowing through my body. If that white boy wasn’t a career criminal, he could have been a professional hypnotist.”
Manson was released from jail in 1967, when he began to assemble his Family, which went on a killing spree two years later.
