There is a new world record for the most money spent on a vintage rock shirt. A Grateful Dead T-shirt was sold for $17,640.

The 1967 shirt was auctioned at Sotheby's "From the Vault: Property from the Grateful Dead and Friends," and actually belonged to the audio engineer for the band, Dan Healy. What’s the big deal?

The shirt is one of Grateful Dead's first pieces of official merchandise. Winner Bo Bushnell said he purchased the shirt to keep the memory of Gut Terk, who designed the shirt, alive. The previous world record was set back in 2011 when someone spent ten-thousand-dollars on a vintage Led Zeppelin shirt.
