A man in China was rushed to the hospital after opening a bottle of snake wine and getting bit by the living, venomous snake.
He had purchased the wine a year ago and wasn't expecting the snake to be alive.
According to Whiskeyraiders.com, "when snakes encounter harsh environments, they often enter a dormant state and can survive for several years.
Jars of the wine cannot be completely sealed, so a small amount of air enters."
