Winner of the World's Ugliest Dog

An 8-year-old Pekingese named Wild Thang was crowned the “World’s Ugliest Dog” on Friday at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, California. This victory came after finishing second three times in previous years. Known for his rolling tongue and unruly fur, Wild Thang was born in Los Angeles and recently moved to Oregon with his owner, Ann Lewis.

They won a $5-thousand prize, and despite contracting distemper as a puppy, which caused his tongue to stick out, Wild Thang remains happy and healthy. The contest is a nearly 50-year tradition and promotes adopting dogs from shelters, especially senior dog.
