Dictionary.com has declared “67” (pronounced “six-seven,” not sixty-seven) its 2025 Word of the Year, citing a surge in searches and social-media usage beginning in summer 2025.
The slang, born from a TikTok-fueled meme and a viral song, loosely signals “so-so” or “maybe this, maybe that,” and is often delivered with a palms-up gesture.
Dictionary.com said the choice reflects how language evolves online, noting that “67” may have little concrete meaning yet carries cultural weight as a symbol of generational in-group humor.
