A 34-year-old mom in Vietnam now knows this better than anyone because she got pregnant after getting an IUD that was put in two years ago. And the real kicker? Her newborn son made his debut into the world...holding the device in his tiny little fist!
The unnamed woman gave birth at Hai Phong International Hospital and the baby boy was born healthy, weighing in at seven-pounds. But his arrival was especially unusual since he came out with a souvenir. He was clutching the small, T-shaped IUD that failed to do its job.
The doctor who delivered the infant,Tran Viet Phuong, says it was such an unusual sight, he snapped a photo of it. “After delivery, I thought him holding the device was interesting,” the doc says. “I never thought it would receive so much attention.” But boy was he wrong. The image was shared by the hospital in a Facebook post that has now gone viral.
