- Radio Free Asia is reporting that a North Korean man who brought a copy of the Netflix hit show Squid Game into the country will be executed by firing squad.
- Six high school students who bought copies of the show on USB sticks face punishments ranging from five years of hard labor to life in prison, while a seventh high school student with wealthy parents will not be punished.
- The arrests are the first time the newly passed “Elimination of Reactionary Thought and Culture” law has been applied to a case involving minors.
