It's the time of year where kids/teens will be going door to door begging for food. It's a tradition, and it's supposed to be for everyone. It is, but when you have a person in your life that deals with allergies it makes the fun a little harder for EVERYONE, especially the kid who suffers from the allergies.
Have you noticed this year or in years past the teal pumpkins some people put out? Did you ever wonder what they were for or what they mean. It's not like a pineapple on a cruise ship, but it has something it stands for.
If your kid has food allergies, it can be tuff for them to enjoy all of the fun, and the teal pumpkins can be a light at the end of a tunnel of what could have been a bad night for them. It means that it's a place that has treats for everyone. Including your kid with allergies. So even if everyone is snatching up all the good stuff. Your kid can still get something just for them. Like a glowstick, bracelet, stickers, you name it. The teal pumpkin is your place where your kid can still have fun.
So when you're walking around, and your allergic kid is sad, keep an eye out for a teal pumpkin and they can enjoy the holiday too.
