Imagine if you could just zap away your sleepless nights with a handheld device. It could soon be a reality.
Researchers at the University of Arizona are developing a gadget that uses magnetic pulses to quiet all those thoughts that keep you awake. The device targets the brain’s default mode network (DMN), which is responsible for all internal chatter. In just 40 seconds, it sends rapid magnetic bursts to specific brain regions, effectively “silencing” the noise and helping you drift off to sleep.
No drugs, no invasive treatments – just a zap and you’re in dreamland.
