The rock world is mourning the loss of Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali, who has died at 68 after a battle with stage four pancreatic cancer.
Banali’s wife Regina has confirmed the loss on in a statement paying tribute to his legacy as a musician, father, friend, and longtime animal rescue advocate. Banail was the last remaining member of Quiet Riot’s classic lineup, becoming their manager in 1994 until the group disbanded in 2003.
“He put up an inspiringly brave and courageous 16-month battle to the end and continued playing live as long as he could,” she wrote. “He lived for playing live and performed for millions of fans around the world throughout his career. His wish for everyone is that you be your own health advocate for early detection so you may live long and rescue many animals.”
