As the Dodgers celebrated their World Series championship last night, a COVID positive player joined the festivities.
Third baseman Justin Turner did not see the end of the team's World Series clinching win on Tuesday since he tested positive for COVID-19, leading to his abrupt removal from the game.
While Commissioner Rob Manfred confirmed the positive test in a post-game interview with FOX, he couldn't explain was why, having just tested positive for a virus that's claimed the lives of over 226-thousand Americans, was he back on the field celebrating with his teammates after their first World Series championship since 1988.
Turner was seen wearing a mask at times but clearly not social distancing following L.A.'s 3-1 win over the Rays. Turner removed his mask for the team picture and other festivities. Mookie Betts defended Turner for returning to the field to join his teammates saying "Forget all that, he's part of the team. We're not excluding him from anything."
