We all remember those TV commercials we saw as kids for cereals that were “part of this nutritious breakfast.”
It’s hard to imagine many of those sugar-coated candy cereals and “nutrition” being seriously mentioned in the same sentence, which leads one nutritionist to sing the praises of…pizza.
Chelsey Amer says pizza can be a deceptively solid breakfast choice, and more balanced than many cereals on the shelves. For example, one slice of cheese pizza has “a balance of carbs, protein and fat,” where as cereal is “largely sugar and carb-heavy”…even with low-fat milk.
