Slipknot have not only released a new single, they've unveiled some updated stage masks.
The lyrics to the "The Chapeltown Rag" were inspired in part by a Netflix documentary Corey Taylor watched about The Yorkshire Ripper, a serial killer who stalked the Chapeltown suburb of Leeds in England, and the media coverage of the case.
Taylor says, "It’s coming from a point of talking about the various manipulations that can happen when social media meets media itself. And the different ways that these manipulations can try to pull us in different directions, in the fact that we’re all becoming addicts to it, which is very, very dangerous."
The band also unveiled the updated masks on their Knotfest website, with Taylor's somehow looking even more disturbing than the one he used on tour this fall.
