The storms of the last several days have been nice for the ski areas. Every little bit helps. And for some, this if the first new snow in a LONG time. New snow here is as of Tuesday morning. Storm totals are since Sunday night. At most mountains, open groomed runs have the best coverage. On other runs, expect early season conditions including thin spots.

Sandia Peak:

Runs: 3/35 (trails under Lift 4 only until more snow arrives)

Lifts: 1/4 (Beginner lift only)

Notes: Lifts now run from 11 - 4 . Right now, its just the beginner area under Chair 4. Upper mountain will reopen when more snow arrives. Rentals, private lessons, retail, and food at the Café are available. Check out lift ticket specials on their website (click the Sandia Peak headline above.) Remember, with the upper mountain closed, you cannot ride the tram to the ski area.

Notes: Use caution on ungroomed trails. There still may be thin spots and some early season conditions. The new Santa Fe Express High-Speed Quad is open (replaced the old quad chair).

Notes: Snowmaking continues! Highline Ridge is open with one run and West Basin to Zdarsky with 4 runs is now open.

Notes: Open Thursday through Sunday. They are grooming parts of the mountain on green and blue trails. Watch for early season conditions.

Notes: Top to bottom skiing on Sassafras off of Lift 1. They have been making lots of snow. Expect more terrain to open soon.
