Daryl Hall says Eddie Van Halen asked him to join Van Halen after David Lee Roth left in 1985.
Hall joins a list of singers Eddie thought about, including Patty Smyth and Steve Perry before Sammy Hagar signed on.
But Hall did play a part in Van Halen's biggest song as the keyboard hook in "Jump" was inspired by Hall & Oates' "Kiss Is on My List."
