Judges in England have ruled that using the word “bald” to describe someone is a form of discrimination.
The three-judge panel heard the case of an electrician who was fired last year after almost 24 years on the job, claiming he was a victim of sexual harassment. It seems a factory supervisor got into an argument with this guy -- and ended up calling him “bald.”
Which... of course... he was – and is. But the judges said that calling him bald crossed the line and was a form of prejudice because more guys are bald than women.
This pretty much means commenting on a man's baldness at work is about the same as remarking on the size of a woman's breasts. The guy ended up winning this case - and will now be compensated.
