Finally, some great totals in the mountains. And the storm isn’t done yet for the northern NM mountains… there could be a few more inches of fresh by Saturday morning. More runs are opening thanks to the new snow. Check out the latest conditions below.

Sandia Peak:

Notes: Will be opening this Saturday with the beginner lift and trail.

What’s New: They are working to restore Chair 2 to its original state! Once completed, Chair 2 will provide quick and easy access to the top of the mountain. They have also made key improvements to the snowmaking system to ensure more consistent conditions.

Santa Fe:

Notes: Thanks to this storm, a bunch more upper mountain terrain opening up. Among the runs opening for the first time this season are Roadrunner, Fall Line, Pipeline, Burro Alley, Avalanche Bowl, Cody’s Glade, Desperado, Double Eagle V, Bozo and Santa Fe Trail. All new advanced terrain will be accessible via the Tesuque Peak Triple Chairlift, while additional beginner terrain under the Santa Fe Express High-Speed Quad. Snowmaking and mountain crews continue their hard work to prepare the Millennium Lift for operation, with plans to have the chair spinning prior to the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Weekend.

What’s new: In the beginner area, the Beginner Double Chairlift has been replaced with the former Super Chief Quad, which provides smoother access to beginner terrain and more uphill capacity (and more room on the chairs!).

Runs: 11/95 (All greens including Headin’ Home from the top to the base and greens on the backside now along with Hully Gully now open on the backside, the only blue run so far!)

Notes: Snowmaking continues. The backside of the mountain has opened with four new runs on the back. They are the greens: Fly Home, Fly Way, Hallelujah, and Highway. And Hully Gully has now opened for the seasons thanks to snowmaking!
