We might think of rodents as icky, but we have more in common with them than you might think -- especially when we crank up the tunes. According to a study in the journal Scientific Advances, rats react just like humans when exposed to music, nodding their heads and swaying to the beat, particularly when the volume is pumped up.
In the study, rats and people were both exposed to the same songs -- ranging from Michael Jackson to Mozart to Lady Gaga. They all heard minute-long sections of songs and it turns out both two-legged and four-legged participants were most tuned in to songs with about 120 beats per minute.
Pro-tip: If you're looking to rock your rodents the right way, try their two favorites -- Lady Gaga’s "Born This Way" and Queen’s "Another One Bites the Dust."
