Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen was assaulted Monday night outside a hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, according to 7 News Miami.
Allen was reportedly outside the Four Seasons, where he was staying after the band performed in the area over the weekend, when he was violently assaulted by a 19-year-old from Ohio, according to a police report.
Fort Lauderdale Police said drummer was having a smoke when Max Edward Hartley rushed him and knocked him to the ground. The police report says that Allen “hit his head on the ground causing injury.”
When a woman ran out to help Allen, Harley attacked her, before taking off, according to the police report. The suspect was later arrested near the hotel breaking car windows.
Allen has cooperated with police and plans to press charges. (7 News Miami)
