Is Metallica the next big rock band lining up to a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas?
A new report from from Vital Vegas says that the band is "ready to ink a deal for a Sphere residency" to start in the fall of 2026 after their M72 tour wraps up next summer in Europe. The site adds that "specifics haven't been confirmed or announced yet."
A move to the Sphere wouldn't be that big a surprise as back in April guitarist Kirk Hammett was asked by The Hollywood Reporter if he and his bandmates would be interested in playing there. Hammett responded, "Oh, heck, yeah! That's a great example of how venues are changing. That's using modern technology to the fullest, to really up the levels of production and entertainment, connected to A.I. and making it a crazy experience."
Other acts that have done residencies at Sphere include U2, Eagles, Dead & Company and Phish.
