TRIUMPH: 50th Anniversary Tour

There's definitely something in the Canadian water, as a third major band from the Great White North, Triumph, has announced a reunion tour.

Following Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings as The Guess Who, and then Rush, Triumph who will head out on their 50th anniversary tour, which also happens to be their first tour in 30 years.

While this marks the first time that Rik Emmett, Gil Moore and bassist Mike Levine will have toured since 1988, the power trio will now be a power sextet as they will be joined by guitarist Phil X of Bon Jovi, who replaced Emmett in 1992, and drummer Brent Fitz and bassist Todd Kerns, both of whom played with Triumph when they performed this past June prior to game two of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers in Edmonton, Alberta.

The tour starts with 10 shows in their native Canada from April 22nd in Sault Ste. Marie through May 8th in Calgary, followed by 14 U.S. dates from May 13th in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont, Illinois through June 6th in Boston. Fellow Canadians April Wine are the opening act.

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. local time at LiveNation.com. A dollar from every ticket sold will support SoundsUnite -- the music community for learning, wellness and creativity, anywhere, anytime, any device.
