A tape of Ozzy Osbourne rehearsing with what would become his first solo band has been found in the attic of a former employee.
David Jolly worked for Ozzy right after he was fired by Black Sabbath and had started to put together a solo band. The tape, which is labeled “Ozzie Last Day,” has 12 minutes of music with Ozzy, guitarist Randy Rhoads, bassist Bob Daisley and an unknown drummer jamming.
Sky News reached out to Daisley and played him the tape, and he confirmed it was Ozzy singing and that it was before drummer Lee Kerslake joined the group that went on to record Blizzard of Ozz.
"I don’t know if we were auditioning a drummer and just loosening up a bit, or we’re just clowning about…but it wasn’t a song we were working on because we had definite songs by then, we had several songs.”
