You cause your own challenges sometimes. Hwang Dong-hyuk, director of Squid Game, says the show is coming back with a lot of new characters because “I killed all the great characters in the first season, so I have to introduce now all new characters.”
He didn’t give many details about the second season of the hit Netflix show because “Everything is still confidential. I mean, because we haven’t announced it yet,” but he did confirm that two characters will be coming back for the new season.
“Gi-hun will come back and the Front Man will come back. But they’ll play new games, more exciting games.” Dong-hyuk made the comments at the Time 100 gala, where he was recognized as a member of Time’s Most Influential 100 people in the world.
