Metallica has released a live recording EP of covers from the MusiCares MAP Fund Benefit Concert in 2014, including songs from Rare Earth, the Beatles, Deep Purple, and Ozzy Osbourne’s “Diary of a Madman.”
And while they keep their archives updated and open to the public, at least one live show has been canceled. Metallica canceled their Switzerland show after someone in the “Metallica family” tested positive for COVID. The official statement announcing the cancellation didn’t specify if it was a member of the band or someone else.
The band wanted to reschedule the show but couldn’t find a venue that wasn’t already booked until the end of 2023, so they’re offering full refunds.
